Kate Spade Event!

Hello everyone!

Thursday night there was a party at the new Kate Spade store at  Northbrook Court in Illinois hosted by the lovely Liz from Sequins and Stripes! Considering it wasn't too far away, Caroline decided we must go for ourselves! (And in case you didn't already know, I have been obsessed with Kate Spade for quite some time now..)

Here is the beautiful store from the outside!

We were just a tad excited...

Liz was seriously so nice, and it was really fun to see a blogger in real life just not behind a screen!!

There was sparking pink lemonades and tasty little cookies that I thought went very nicely with the whole store :)
Caroline and me enjoying our delicious and adorable drinks!

And a couple cute decorations around the store!

Have an excellent Saturday!

Current Favorites

Hello everyone!

So after my break from blogging, Caroline <Citrus and Style> has encouraged me to start posting again and I thought I would give this whole blogging thing another whirl ;)

Here are a couple of my favorite things that I have been getting my share of this summer...

My Fitness Pal

This is an app that helps you keep track of what you have eaten throughout the day and how many calories you have taken in. I'm not doing this for weight loss purposes (like no one my age should be doing!) But I think it's a healthy way to monitor my junk food intake!

Pop-Ice

These little popsicles are a sweet treat to cool you down and to get rid of your sugar craving. And it is a plus that they are only 15 calories!!

H20 Spa Lotion

I picked up this cream at TJ Maxx a while ago, and what drew me to it was that it is a fitness cream! It is supposed to sooth muscles and reduce soreness so I had to try it considering I will do about anything to get rid of or simmer down my tendinitis!

Braids

Lately I have been obsessed with wearing braids in mt hair. French, fishtail, or a regular three strand braid is so practical for an everyday look or even for running.

Maybelline BB Cream

During the summertime I like to have minimal makeup, but it is really important to protect your skin (especially when you're as fair as me!!) and it is an extra bonus when it includes a little extra coverage to your face!

I hope you enjoyed this and I am excited to start blogging again!

Workout Routine

During the summer I don't go to the gym, so this forces me to get a little more creative with my workouts. During the winter I would always have my little routine I would stick to, but now that I don't have those machines available to me, I have to go outisde in the sunlight to get exercise.. Horrible, I know ;) As some of you may know I was injured in track this past spring in track, so running wasn't an option for me for quite a while. But now I am starting to be able to run again, so that makes my workouts a lot easier!

A place where I look a lot for little workout ideas is Pinterest. A couple days ago I had just gotten back from a run and I was going through Pinterest trying to find some good core workouts.  After picking and choosing from a couple different Pins, here is a list of exercises I put together!

-100 bicycles
-40 criscrosses
-30 heel touches
-20 windshield wipers
-50 crunches
-50 side crunches  (25 each side)
-30 reverse crunches
-60 mountain climbers
-30 squats with a 3 pound weight
-40 chest presses with a 3-5 pound weight
-30 chest flies with a 3-5 pound weight
-50 hammer curls with a 3-5 pound weight

If you haven't heard of any of these, just give them a quick Google search!

I thought this was a sufficient way to end a good run or a nice long bikeride! What are your go-to workouts?

DIY Monogrammed Bulletin Board

I am a bit obsessed with DIYs, like thousands of other people out there. Last summer I went a little crazy with crafting, but everything I made, I am still enjoying! Last week I was totally in the mood to craft something up. Caroline was over at my house, and I looked around my room and said, "I want to paint a monogram on my bulletin board!"

As I've blogged about before, I love redecorating my bulletin board. But once I paint it, I can't exactly peel off the paint and design it differently. But without hesitation, I painted the cork with a hot pink acrylic paint.  After having just enough paint, we let it dry and went on May Designs and picked out the perfect monogram to base off of while I'm painting it. I went with a navy acrylic paint for the monogram!

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, and with all of my bulletin board stuff on it, it looks really cute!

I'm also not so sure how the paint with stay... Fingers crossed it won't peel off!!

Summertime

Hello everyone,

I realize I have been MIA the past week, but after the stressful week of exams, I needed a good amount of time to clear my head and relax. I am going on my sixth day of summer vacation, and I couldn't be more happy about the warm months ahead that will consist of nothing more than relaxing, spending time with friends, and going on adventures of course.

I've been looking towards Pinterest lately as a source to feed my boredom, but it has really gotten me excited for the three months of fun. Here are just a few things I am looking forward to this summer...

Sailing

Going to the pool

Sunbathing at the beach with friends

And of course I thought this was just too cute :)

Current Music Favorites

I have to admit, I am not a huge music person. My sister is really into music, so I always download the music she gets and listen to it whenever I am in the mood. Recently on my own I have come across some songs that I am minorly obsessed with. And it's super weird because each of the songs are like super random and are nothing like each other... haha that's me for ya

Champs Elysees
My French teacher played this for us in class a while ago, and it has been stuck in my head ever since (in the very best way of course). If you are a Frenchie like me then you will probably like it 10 times more also...

A Little Party Never Killed Nobody
I bought this right after I saw the Great Gatsby last weekend and I love it! It's a great mixture between time periods and it's just so fun. (And it replays the fabulous party scenes in my head)

Cruise
So.. I  kind of like country music now.. One of my teammates was giving me a ride home after practice once and she was going on and on about country music and how much shes loves it. I was little curious about it since I only have memories from 7th grade when Signe loved country and I called it chicken music.. (hehe sorry Signe) Anyway, I seriously love this song and it makes me sooo want summer. (P.S. I didn't realize how weird this song was until I watched the music video.. haha #EProbs)

What tunes are you listening to?

The Great Gatsby

So over the weekend I saw The Great Gatsby... twice.

I saw it on Friday night, loved it, and immediately said that I needed to see it again. Sure enough, Sunday night I was back at the cinema ready to experience it's fabulous-ness all over again.

I love everything about it; the actors, the scenery, the story line, the time period.. I've freaked out about it just a little bit.

I'm not going to go too deep into the story line because I don't spoil it for those who haven't seen it, but I really find Gatsby to be so inspiring, and I can see how a lot of people could also. I just love it in the movie how Nick refers to him as "hopeful" because it isn't something you usually hear people called when they are very wealthy and accomplished. Besides being taken by the movie itself, the music was also great!

I may or may not have gone home and bought all the best songs on the soundtrack... This is one is seriously my favorite though because it always reminds me of the party scenes in the movie :) Is it just me, or do the parties back then seem a lot more fun than parties now?? I don't think much has changed besides the clothes to be quite honest actually... haha!

Here are some fun pins I've came across on Pinterest about the movie
(i really love this)

Have you seen this movie? If you have, what did you think?

P.S. I may or may not now have the Great Gatsby monogrammed wallpaper... #obsessed
